Everything’s sunny for Liz Lemon these days! Tina Fey, comedic genius and your fantasy best friend, just snagged a four-bed, four-and-a-half-bath co-op for sale in New York, NY. In addition to spacious living and dining rooms, the home features a lovely office/library space with built-in bookshelves — the perfect place to stash away some spare copies of her best-seller, Bossypants, or hang with her BFF Amy Poehler! (They might need some quality time to puzzle out why their latest film, Sisters, didn’t exactly take the box office by storm.)
According to the New York Observer, the unit includes two wood-burning fireplaces, 22 new windows, and a private elevator landing. This sounds more like a home for the tux-wearing Jack Donaghy than for Liz! (“It’s after 6! What am I? A farmer?”) Another fun fact: Her new unit previously belonged to soulful crooner Harry Belafonte, but he sold it in 2006 for $5.187 million.
But here’s the best part: Tina and her husband, Jeff Richmond, already own the unit below; they bought it back in 2009 for $3.4 million. Tina’s about to pull a Liz Lemon and combine the two units to make the ultimate Upper West Side home! (Hopefully, Tina, unlike Liz, won’t have to move in with the current residents to force them out.)
Why else would the couple pay $2 million over the $7.5 million asking price for their new unit? Besides, she’s just taking a cue from 30 Rock character Tracy Jordan, who says to “live every week like it’s Shark Week.”
